When Jack Higgins took to the Britain’s Got Talent stage to do a dance, he probably didn’t know what he was getting himself in for.
The 14-year-old contestant opened up to the judges about being bullied for being perceived as gay for enjoying dancing, in particular ballet.
In a true Billy Elliot moment, Higgins, from Liverpool, said: “People was calling me names. Getting bullied, saying I was gay and I danced like a girl and ballet was for girls.”
Then what happened next is absolutely stunning.
After he is finished dancing Simon Cowell, known for his harsh and dry criticism, gave him some great advice.
He says: “You know the one thing that bullies don’t like? They don’t like it when you do well. I can see how hard you’ve worked for this moment and I congratulate you Jack.”
