Mike Pence ignored a ‘Do Not Touch’ sign and it’s our new favourite meme

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since November, then you probably know who Mike Pence is.

The anti-LGBT Vice President, who only talks to women with his wife’s permission, is something of a laughable but still terrifying political figure.

Pence has pledged his own and President Trump’s support to an anti-LGBT hate group, as well as worked towards slashing an estimated $30 million from the budget for prevention of AIDS and HIV.

While Pence has clearly made a mark in political history as one of the most discriminatory VP’s, there are plenty of people trying to stop him.

From JK Rowling hounding him on Twitter to students staging protests aginst him, Pence is not being accepted with welcoming arms.

One thing that hasn’t stopped the VP though is a sign. A very important ‘Do Not Touch’ sign in NASA.

This sign really isn’t up for debate. It’s clear, you cannot interpret it. Do Not Touch.

But the three words perplexed Pence and he instead decided to touch the machine that NASA scientists and engineers had so clearly labelled.

The moment was captured by journalist Mike Rundle from Reuters, who promptly tweeted it out.

Since then, it’s been captured by the people of Twitter who have done what they do best and made it into a meme.

A whole host of photoshop masters have done their best work on the image and come up with everything from the weird to the wonderful.

From cartoon and film outtakes…

To signs which should probably be a bit more clear for the VP

The re-created images are nothing short of bizarre, but they have us rolling on the floor in laughter.

Some of them even feature the president himself.

But these two are by far our favourites.

You’re welcome.
